Topic History of: The robin in church

In The Know Last summer I visited Haddon Hall - probably the finest medieval manor house in England (largely untouched since the 15C).

As it was a hot day they had doors and windows open ... and the tiny Church was full of swallows, which was quite surreal.
JK2006 Don't you adore robins? They are so cute. The pics of the one living in a church in today's papers is heart warming. I've had a robin (or family of them) living in my tree for 45 years. Ditto a blackbird, a thrush and several chaffinches. Plus the usual annoying and dirty pigeons. I have conversations with the blackbird, robin and thrush; I'm so familiar to them they don't bother to fly off; just look at me, say hello and get on with their business.
