Hugh Grant's article is now online:
The bugger, bugged
"Thosa are the highlights. As I drove home past the white cliffs, I thought it was interesting - apart from the fact that Paul hates people like me, and I hate people like him, we got on quite well. And, absurdly, I felt a bit guilty for recording him.
And he does have a very nice pub. The Castle Inn, Dover, for the record. There are rooms available, too. He asked me if I'd like to sample the honeymoon suite some time: "I can guarantee your privacy."" |

fruitlessly searching the Aussie newspapers for a mention of this tale. The fact they are all owned by Rupert Murdoch is entirely co-incidental.
plenty of mentions on the government ABC network. Ignored elsewhere. |

So the front page story in the Guardian (anti Murdoch) is buried tiny inside the Sun and Times (Murdoch owned - like the News of the World)
I've noticed all through this case that some papers are conspicuous by their silence on the issue. I read the Times a few days a week through dogwalking for a friend and any time the Guardian and BBC* are running with the story, the Times will have a vague mention on page 23.
* worth noting that the BBC is up with the Guardian on this story in terms of coverage, tho maybe their reasons are a bit transparent. |

But the Mail? Buries it away too. Wonder if it's a bit too close to home. |
