Even his "army" are foreign mercenaries !
France recognises the new government, so does Qatar (who are selling the oil), and now the Kuwait government also (and offers $180m in aid). US Senator McCain recently visited and said the USA should recognise the new government too.
The UK and USA do not "officially" recognise the new government yet - but are doing all they can to assist it,and have said Gaddafi must go, so de facto, DO only accept the new government.

Out of view of international media, Gaddafi's forces have been pounding rebel Berber towns in Libya's remote Western Mountains with artillery.
The capture of a crossing on the Tunisian border by rebels has let refugees flee in cars or on foot along rocky paths, swelling refugee numbers in southern Tunisia to 30,000.
"Our town is under constant bombardment by Gaddafi's troops. They are using all means. Everyone is fleeing," said one refugee, Imad, bringing his family out of the mountains.

The killings in Syria have happened largely because the "government" there have been emboldened by Gaddafi's stance .... and if we do not defeat Gaddafi (which we obviously will) then more and more unrest and killings will follow.
The Yemeni "president" has recently agreed to step down in the next 30 days (after holding out for months).
More bold statements  Let's hope they prove more accurate than your last ones. |

Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi has approved the use of his country's air force in Nato's Libya mission.
Italy was ready to allow its jets to take "targeted military action", he said in a statement.
