I quite like the fact that Tony Blair wasn't invited. They probably were going to, but realised they would have to invite Cherie as well. |

Dr Khiyami told Radio Four's World At One:
"I don't really understand it but I understand the influence of media on the government decisions."
The ambassador also expressed sympathy for Prince William and Kate Middleton.
"The bride and groom need not have their wedding distracted by other matters," he said.
He sounds a very sensible chap to me! |

I really think our government is proving not only useless, clueless and brain dead but actually dangerous. After killing thousands of innocent Libyans, instead of building bridges and encouraging discussion with the Syrian government (and, I'd suggest, protest leaders - invite them too - as they should Gaddafi AND Libyan rebel leaders) they make a pointless snub in order to get tabloid and media praise.
