In The Know (but not this time) Yesterday's claim that 120 "security personnel" had been killed by "armed gangs" (thats what all repressive governments call anyone who opposes them) does not seem to make sense.

The opposition is largely unarmed - so how did they manage to "kill" 120 ?

Is it just lies by the (outgoing) government to justify further repression ? Seems unlikely as its quite alot of deaths to claim.

I wonder if a chunk of the Syrian army has switched sides (mindful of the ICC perhaps?)
