you are correct (unusually) about people shopping for cheap made Asian goods and then wondering where the jobs are but again you are blaming the victim when they are caught up in a Catch 22 situation.

Thy don;t act en masse and are not responsible for the great con-globalisation , the biggest scam. well one of the biggest.

In a way they are to blame because they aren't as clever as me who saw all this happening before others.

Eureka ! I think we are making progress !

It isn't a Catch 22 situation ... its a situation entirely of their own making.

My son has a degree, and a very well paid job. His mate, who messed around (but went to the same schools etc) now works in a call centre.

They had exactly the same opportunities ... one worked, and one didn't (and will now have to pay the price).

So I ask again ... having wasted zillions on "education" why should we waste a penny more ?

thus you have generational unemployment that is hardly the fault of the unemployed.

It's a big problem and could be solved but won;t be by those who are unemployed. Only government can do it and punishing those on benefits isn't the answer.

IT IS the fault of the unemployed, veritas !
They have had as much money spent on their education (until the very recent University cuts) as anyone else - but have FAILED to take advantage of that. If that is not their fault - then whose fault is it ?

You are making excuses for those who have wasted huge amounts of public money and are now probably unemployable.

I dont see why we should waste a penny more (esp when those who have actually contributed to society - pensioners etc - are suffering cuts.

As for jobs being outsourced - again if the people only want to spend a pound of a tee shirt, then Primark is the only place to go. These people want their cake (huge wages) and be able to eat it (cheap products). You can't have both.

As for the educated --what are there..90 qualified applicants for every job ?

40 years ago my banker father said this would happen and said they will have to pay people not to work one day. But he wasn't hung up on the morality of it. He even said it in a speech in the City and was howled down.

you make this odd assumption that all people on social security are scroungers.

Anyone who has been out of work for years and then lands a decent job will begin to shine. I've seen it happen to so many former 'layabouts'

But those on the dole do contribute..every penny they get is pumped straight back into society and goes to keep a whole lot more people in work.

Like I've said many many times before ... benefit is there to help someone who is temporarily unemployed / off sick etc - it's not a lifelong "choice" !

Housing benefit has rocketted under loony Labour from 11.7 Billion to 27.8 Billion. These people cost us far far more than they ever "contribute" (and let's not forget its OUR money that they are "contributing" with !!!)

I'm not too sure who makes these 'rules' about benefits and how long it is for but many communities have been devastated by former government policy (started under Thatcher and compounded by successive governments-Major & Blair) thus you have generational unemployment that is hardly the fault of the unemployed.

It's a big problem and could be solved but won;t be by those who are unemployed. Only government can do it and punishing those on benefits isn't the answer.

As Innoc. Accused says-where are the jobs ? (in India that's where-outsourced)

Also the rent subsidies again are not the recipient's fault although the tabloids would have you think otherwise.

Again blame Thatcher and her nutcase Lord Monckton, ( currently in Oz calling climate change a fraud )who decided Britain alone (unlike the rest of Europe) should be come a nation of home owners, guaranteed to set off property boom/busts and compounded again by T.Blair.

Now that Britain has become a nation of home owners including property speculators, I'm waiting to see them begin howling when property prices go haywire if those on welfare begin being evicted.

At least you are correct about immigration and the EU.

The original concept of the Common Market was to help raise the standards of all those European countries but the opposite has happened hasn't it ?

Until we stop EU immigration there will be high levels of unemployment.Even IDS acknowledged that. What has any government done about this?

We dont need (many) thickies anymore, do we?

So stop scrounging, get a job yourself, then you wouldn't have to make a fool of yourself here

Perhaps you can ask Mystic Meg how she'd sort out unemployment on your next séance?
Anybody else agree with this prat?
