I expect he masturbates to a cardboard cutout of his own gormlessness
veritas another good piece that really sums up the hacking from an Aussie angle from one of my favourite writers Guy Rundle who is based in London :

Rundle: a moral and operational disaster for News Corp

He refers to Murdoch's personal all time favourite newspaper The Australian (which makes a loss) which over the past 5 years since the election of a Labor government has become the most vindictive and vicious newspaper I've ever seen.

They brought down the most popular PM ever within 18 months of his election and are trying to do the same to Julia Gillard and have attacked her relentlessly on a personal level.

Also see this piece- a former NoTW hack now at Fairfax Media and his boasts:

Ex-NotW Fairfax exec Ricky Sutton: ‘I know nothing’

"It is read by half the British population and during my stint, it was named UK newspaper of the year. Among our scoops were Jeffrey Archer’s perjury which led to him being jailed, Gary Glitter’s p-edophilia (and him being jailed too)"
veritas Matthew Norman: Now is the moment to stop Murdoch

says it all really.

I still believe that the 'establishment'-that mysterious force that guides Britain and allows the Thatchers, Blairs of the world their moment as it suits their purpose have lined up to cut Murdoch down to size.

Does anyone really believe that an Aussie buccaneer would really be allowed to become all powerful ?

He's served his purpose.

I remember an interview with Tony Benn over 25 years ago when he said even the royal family would be dispensed with if it suited the purposes of the 'establishment'.

Is David Cameron the most gormless, vacuous PM Britain has ever elected ?
