JK2006 Expresses "deep regret"... that corrupt cops are now being exposed?

It really beggars belief (like the News International "horror" at the Milly Dowler phone hack revelation) that these people are so shocked. It's like past Editors being "shocked" by the methods journos used to get stories. Did they really neither know nor care? I think they believed The News Fairy left information under pillows whilst hacks were asleep at night.
