Once a liar ...always a liar, maybe ?

to the contrary. There seems to be some bizarre belief perpetuated by the media..and apparently believed by the general public..that the world is entitled to know every private detail in a person's life.

Andy Warhol and Bob Dylan (when he once gave interviews) always gave completely made up answers to media questions so that it was almost impossible to rely on newspaper cuttings files for facts.

I guess this presidential candidate is an old lefty if you don't like him

(ps In The Know- that bastion of capitalism that has surged so far to the right in the last 30 years that the middle class has been wiped out, seems to becoming undone at the seams )

veritas the age of consent in Israel is 14-16..not sure of the details.

'statuatory rape' is one of those charges where cohersion or force wasn't used and it may have been consensual but the law was broken.

The so-called 'child protection' brigade have jumped on the band wagon without obviously knowing the details along with political rivals.

It reminds me of a big case in Oz a few years ago when the chief prosecutor was done for child porn and around 40 barristers, lawyers. police and uni professors (including a good friend of mine) gave character references to the court and News Int tabloids went haywire... basically accusing them of being 'pedo lovers' etc.

They all got about $50K in damages each. They better be a bit careful in Ireland..libel laws are much stronger.
TED Whenever I hear about statutory rape of a fifteen year old, I'm reminded of a quote from one of my all time favorite books/films One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest where McMurphy was talking to the psychiatrist at the ward.

He says, "She was fifteen years old, going on thirty-five, Doc, and she told me she was eighteen, she was very willing, I practically had to take to sewing my pants shut. Between you and me, uh, she might have been fifteen, but when you get that little red beaver right up there in front of you, I don't think it's crazy at all and I don't think you do either. No man alive could resist that, and that's why I got into jail to begin with. And now they're telling me I'm crazy over here because I don't sit there like a goddamn vegetable. Don't make a bit of sense to me. If that's what being crazy is, then I'm senseless, out of it, gone-down-the-road, wacko. But no more, no less, that's it."

Great literature. Mcmurphy was the ultimate good guy of all time.
