veritas my heart sinks every time I hear there will be an "independent" inquiry lead by a "distinguished" person'

the Hutton Inquiry ??

the hacking inquiry ??..will it be a white wash ?

a big reason why it may be..the horror stories I am now hearing in Australia and about the UK in respect of police selling or feeding prejudicial information to the media that has changed the whole nature of some high profile court cases could result in so many applications to courts that result in the over turning of some of the biggest ( and smaller by implication) convictions.

Alternatively some very brave politicians may seize upon this to drive a nail in the coffin of trial be media.

which way will it be ?
