December represented just over 20% of the albums market in 2010, and 12% of singles. It was 24% in December 2009, but the analysis was based on 6 weeks, (as 2009 was a 53 yeek year), wheras 2010 was only based on 5 weeks. The hint hint is true true but I've discarded the idea of a paperback for the moment in favour of a boost for the E book version which has started selling a lot on Kindle and I reckon we'll drop the price especially as the new Colour Kindle can carry all the photos (available anyway online) in colour too. |

I gather Christmas is the big season for books (as regulars know - I read and buy them every week of the year). Someone told me recently that 80% of music industry sales is in December - books are the same.
But Kindle has changed things. 65 My Life So Far has sold out every single copy of the 500 print run (£10,000 sounds a lot but I used to make that in a day with some of my 60s/70s hit singles). However, if you're on Kindle you can still buy it for a fraction of the price. I heartily recommend it to all readers (well, I would, wouldn't I?). |
