Prunella Minge Ha! I like Fry, but it's the people around him who drive me mad. Maybe it's the accent, but he seems to inspire a crazed bout of feudal forelock-tugging. Take his performance as Jeeves - actually very wrong for the role, as Jeeves was never meant to act or sound as if he went to Uppingham and was from a better background than Bertie (which is why, say, Arthur Treacher was much better suited to the part), but, nonetheless, Fry was smothered in reverential praise. It always happens, no matter what he does, and I agree it's rarely his fault. Maybe each generation needs one figure to romanticise.
