dav Spooks was by far my favourite TV drama - had all the elements I like and am very sad to learn this is the end of the road for Spooks.

I'll hopefully be able to catch up with Season 10 Ep 6 this weekend - the final episode.

The car/van chase in Ep 5 around the streets of London was brilliant.

Perhaps, to retain the option of Spooks 2 ?
JK2006 Except one of the great things about Spooks was the key characters dying; something that became a cliche (and not wishing to be a spoiler, one reason why I expected but didn't admire the ending).
Prunella Minge Yes. I loved the mood throughout - a sort of dramatic riff. The one problem with all the spy dramas that have followed Le Carre, however, is that they have turned that idea of realism into a new cliche - you just know how each one will end. The most surprising thing one can do is have an upbeat ending.
The Fat Controller Terrible ending. Very disappointing. I wonder what Firth will do next? So far an extraordinary career.
