Maybe JK is referring to the fact there is such pressure to wear poppies, such as all those TV presenters, many who are just pretty faces and talking heads with little else occupying their minds except the autocue and whether their make-up is OK.

Let's face it...it's like every presenter is afraid of not wearing one.

JK wrote: "My problem with poppies is that they represent people wanting to conform to a generous image and don't actually mean anyone remembers or respects anyone." Nothing about news presenters. And what pressure? Plenty of my friends don't wear them, and I never ask them why. It's none of my business. But the suggestion that those of us who do are idiots who are celebrating murderers is a disgrace. It's one of his 'Only I am morally mature and admirable' self-preening rants. They occur every couple of months. Not bad for celebs, but no less absurd in terms of logic.
Prunella Minge Yes. The Football Association, organising a game of football! They've been rumbled!

here, dear !

My thoughts on this are - IF the FA cared one hoot about Remembrance (rather than just kow-towing to the Poppy Police), then why are they promoting a frivolous game of football at such a time ?

welcome back you gorgeous thing , even though sadly you are still muddled as always.

I would think if you are going to wear a poppy at this time then sporting events etc are all fine times to as presumably that is what the war was fought about !..ie- the right to do such.

Maybe JK is referring to the fact there is such pressure to wear poppies, such as all those TV presenters, many who are just pretty faces and talking heads with little else occupying their minds except the autocue and whether their make-up is OK.

A very valid point.
