I wonder if the NI lot thought they were simply untouchable.
veritas In the scheme of things I reckon Piers is a very minor player and is unfairly attacked..the main reason being that he was editor of a 'left' leaning newspaper.

Although hacking has been on a level of organised crime, Piers really was any celebrities best friend when it came to tabloid publicity. His demise as an editor should remind people how fearsome the war mongers were and are.

He's one smart cookie and others may not have survived under similar circumstances.

One thing we should watch now: the manner in which News Corp is lashing out...as demonstrated by their hysterical attacks upon The Guardian. Like a giant wounded animal they will take down anything and everyone with them if they can.

the rumblings in News Corp in Oz are an indication. Staff are terrified of the future and the majority do not believe the company will survive.
Prunella Minge He was stupid enough to publish a 'diary' that was blatantly written ex post facto and, thanks to the woeful errors within, was rumbled in about five minutes by other hacks. Moriarty he ain't.

steveimp He's been well trained for this sort of stuff JK. It feels very much like a good act that he is putting on, or is this what he is like face to face?
