Prunella Minge I go past it most mornings and they call it something other than the Copper Kettle. Not very nice place, sadly. Jamie Oliver has a restaurant inside what was the Old Library in Wheeler Street. The Corn Exchange is a hideous place - they use it for exams and, because of its awful acoustics, rock concerts. And of course the Lion Yard is now part of a huge shopping mall. The UL is just the same, but now everyone has laptops so everywhere sounds like Star Wars.
JK2006 Ah Pru; definitely not the same old Copper Kettle as my day but a brand new one opposite King's - sparkling bright and polished (and the breakfast was not very good).

The Eagle Pub looked the same though.

The Corn Exchange is definitely not the old barn I discovered Hedgehoppers in.

Prunella Minge The Copper Kettle is also no longer there, so I think you must have done some time travelling!
JK2006 Got up early and drove there; splendid weather; had breakfast in the Copper Kettle; traditional - but The Whim has gone and my old "sick room" at Trinity has become a fellow's room... filmed everywhere... went into the Union and spotted both Norman Lamont and Ann Mallalieu - Presidents during my time there - on the walls... wandered down Portugal Place to my old rooms... greeted the swans and ducks on the Cam... several people spotted me and came up and said hello... not all as ancient as me... lovely day, many memories.
