Blackit Probably would have. Just as he would if interviewing Jonathan King.

Joey Barton was an average premiership footballer who achieved notoriety through being a violent thug, including beating up children, and has now become something of a circus act for his habit of quoting Nietzsche on Twitter. Look at how the smelly monkey can learn to speak - isn't it cute!
steveimp I wonder if Jonathan Aitken or Lord Archer had been interviewed last night by Paxman that he would have mentioned in his 'introduction' their 'criminal convictions'? I very much doubt it, so why with Barton, or is it because he is a 'member of the lower classes?'.

Paxman despite being very good is a horrible snob at the best of times.
