JK2006 Just to enlarge on this; there are the asides, when things don't go quite right, when Catalano comes through a door, when Salvo can't resist an affair with a pretty (gorgeous actually) girl and when Livia (gorgeous too) can't resist an affair either, the tiny details of life, the elderly man who's a bit of a pervert but it's understandable (less forgivable - he's a crashing bore)...
JK2006 because it's about real human beings, affectionately painted and scripted.
