Chris Retro Have you been approached by any of the shitrags this week JK?

I'd say if John Peel, as a sacred cow way outside of the BBC and famously no part of the Radio One Roadshow/TOTP gang of the 60s/70s, is considered 'fair game' for this slaughter the knives are out for anyone and everyone. I strongly suspect poor old Fluff - a genuine 'missing link' between Jimmy Savile (TOTP, Ballroom Scene, R1) and John Peel (Genuine love of music, mutual respect & admiration), as well as being in possession of a penis and also (argh!) bi-sexual to boot (cue links to yourself and, snore, Chris Denning) - will be next on the chopping block.

I predict all of the pre-Bannister R1 male dj's are under the microscope.

I doubt though we will see any "Rock Legends" exposed as, of course, the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Rod Stewart, Elvis Presley etc are basically untouchable - far too valuable a commodity to the multi-national advertisers whom, of course, basically own all the commercial publications and stations. This is what I'd term "The Townshend Effect" (not that I believe he did anything wrong either) - they generate far too much income to be demonised, unlike say Gary Glitter or Jimmy Savile.
JK2006 this time just the expected "loadsaperverts" like Gary Glitter - they prefer dead people (John Peel gets the treatment; so to a lesser extent does Fluff Freeman; doubtless both will get more when middle aged "victims" realise they might "now be believed"). After convicted perverts will come the smeared but escaped ones (John Leslie, Matthew Kelly, dozens of others)... Then they bravely will start on any other BBC "stars" - lots of innuendo; and some of those huge stars from the era like dear Rod Stewart whose memoirs they are currently serialising (mine are available for a small cheque).

The odd fat woman will come forward ("I was only 15 when he/she..." and they didn't even marry me)...

Sensation! Shock! Horror! Massive pop superstar (now dead) abused me when I was 12 (Elvis?).

If they get away with this revelation that there were (whisper it softly) groupies around in the 60s and (even softer) some weren't quite 16...

The world is their valuable oyster.
