Hedda Lord Levseon is speaking today in Sydney about the media and in particular the internet and how Google can be an unremitting attack on privacy. Cannot find a good report yet on what he said.

Paul W. : there is something so vastly ironic, karmic, God-like that Max Clifford should be arrested by the same force in the same matters as Gary Glitter was when Max has been instrumental in Glitter's downfall.

JK has been predicting this of course but this arrest is a bolt out of the blue.

I had a recent argument with a friendly hack : that if Glitter's Vietnam conviction was genuine then the media shared guilt in the assaults : he was having none of my claim that actions have consequences:

The media and NOTW pursued Glitter with a vindictiveness beyond all reason. They drove him from the UK. He was living happily in Cuba with a legal aged woman and their child.

The NOTW drove him from Cuba, eventually to Vietnam. There would have been no victims in Vietnam if the media had not been so persistent.

Such cavalier actions towards people's rights..even the guilty..was bound to end in tears. As Clifford has found. It is the end of his career.
Paul W Waxy being taken in on this issue is a far more significant story/event than most people realise. Is there a golden stoat somewhere that sits even higher in the press-manipulation chain than waxy???Probably somewhere (unseen and unheard of, but, nevertheless, still there). Has the puppet master now become the puppet? Possibly. Or is it simply just that Karma is kindly showing the view of the other side of the fence that has all so often been conveniently constructed at the expense / downfall of others?? Maybe God exists afterall? The developments over the next few days will be very interesting..Or is it just that the authorities want to see a list of recent "concerned-clients from the late 60s and early-to-mid 70's re: Savile / Top of the pops" in exchange for dropping any potential accusations that there might be....That will save a great deal of police time, surely....Would he tell them???? Now thats a conundrum..
Hedda the fact is that Max Clifford has now been tainted for life whatever the outcome.

He has now become victim to a culture he had a major part in fostering : the pursuit of compensation not just from the government but from the media.

He simply cannot complain. If I recall- it was he who arranged a deal between the NOTW and a a claimant to be paid a huge sum if GG was found guilty in an assault case. GG was found innocent.

And will this Max's words now be used against him ?..such as his previous claims that a witch hunt could result ?...was he speaking knowing he had a past that could rise up to bite him ?

and is there something in Tosspot's past ?.

JK2006 But Max is well aware that massive media publicity, especially about so vile an act that he can only refer to it obliquely, will provoke numerous others to dare approach the authorities and make similar claims. Some may be false, some may be true, all may be false, some may be exaggerated but you can be sure, with £33,000 compensation, full anonymity for the "victims" and many, many encounters in his past, they will now speak out.

And I'm sure he would be the first to say - if there is a grain of truth therein, he should be sent to prison for seven years.

He seemed amazed that the claims came from 1977. Might I remind him, that was far more recent than the false allegations against me that were presented to him 12 years ago. And he can take heart that the Judge in my trial demanded those allegations were abandoned.
