What absurd nonsense !
All pensioners get £200 winter fuel allowance ..... Equal to £20 a week for 10 weeks.
Winter does not last that long !
The problem is this handout is given to the person who then spends it on other things rather than fuel.
It should be paid direct to the energy firm - so people cannot waste it. |

" David Cameron tried to say he was making further cuts aimed at the 'shirkers and scroungers', but the truth is that six out of ten people hit by these cuts are people who get up every morning and go to work.
The lowest paid families getting tax credits, like new mum's will lose £180 each in maternity pay. Many families nearing Christmas are now in the awful position of having to choose between their children when it comes to new clothes, shoes, presents etc. Trying to make ends meet, while working longer than ever, with time together as a family, almost non-existent.
At the same time - next April those already paid over £1-Million a year will be getting on average a TAX CUT of £107,000 each. And not just for one year, but EVERY YEAR."
