I like Sarah Silverman's joke about jury service...
"I got jury duty … and I didn't want to go, so my friend said, "You should write something really really racist on the form when you return it. Like, you should put 'I hate chinks'." And I said, "I'm not going to put that on there just to get out of jury duty. I don't want people to think that about me." So instead I wrote, 'I love chinks.' And who doesn't?"

I was called once and asked loudly how much I would be paid, whether the hotel had room service, mini bar and cable, if I could invite a friend overnight and so on and cackled insanely at one barrister which drew a sharp reprimand fron His Honour.
I wasn't picked which was dissapointing as I was looking forward to it. |

I got a mate who has been called for Jury Service he is very shy and timid bloke who can only be social in small groups. He won't be very good listening to evidence or taking much information in he is totally unsuitable to be on a jury.
Of course the courts like to bully the vulnerable and like to think they all going to go with guilty so in court he be an ideal candidate but deep down In his mind go with not guilty but be scared to say it.
Don't they have interviews before selection to weed out the unsuitable ones? |

He needs to see his GP; I'm sure his GP will write a letter and say he is not fit enough for the job.
The other thing to do is to write and say that you are 'bigoted against the Police' and generally that works too, as I've been told! |
