hedda capitalism with liberal doses of socialism works well.

unfettered capitalism is a disaster as seen with the Great Depression and the 2007 meltdown....and then bankers and capitalists come over all socialist as they beg the taxpayer to bail them out.

All animals are not equal...but in a sense they are as scientists tell us if the gorgeous bees die off....man will live no longer than a year.

Rupert Murdoch is 87
ITK is loopy.

I think Capitalism SHOULD be responsible, with the few who create wealth genuinely helping the poor and vulnerable... those few should be encouraged but responsibility is essential. Socialism is fine in principle but, like Communism, when you move from the basic principles things go badly wrong because, as Orwell said, All Animals are NOT equal.

Like everything else, extremes are wrong; only taking the intelligently adaptable middle ground works.

I agree, but it's also true that those few who create wealth don't do it alone without others working for them, they need people working for them i.e those in sweatshops in 3rd world or anywhere else as much as they need them (for their bussiness to work anyway).

All animals are not equal, and they can't be, everyone has different abilities, and different roles need to be filled for things to work, but without people to do the lower paid dirty work, everything would grind to a halt.

People in the 18th century would not have been able to purchase sugar anywhere near as cheaply, and the plantation owners would not have made anywhere near the profit they did had it not been for the slaves, if it was not for them the plantation owners would have had to do all the dirty work themselves - they should have revolted and let them, lol.
