I think there must have been extraordinary jealousy of Savile as he made it all look so easy and coasted through his life seemingly without a care.
Amazing as he could have only survived if he was genuinely loved by millions yet history is being re-written.
The manner in which his charity work is being debased is truly evil. |

Originally the Beeb played everything; DJ's only spoke; Capital was totally self op except commercials and news; then BBC went self op too. |

It quite amazed me how (again) he kept going on about Jimmy Savile, like he had evidence to prove what he was saying. He brought up Gambaccini's dead body "theory", like it were proved to be true. Questioning why News International had not spoken of it & then spoke of more (out of the air stuff), by talking about the supply of kids to Edward Heath. Again unproven.
The pushy way he tried to speak to Harman & making the same mistakes, to get himself thrown out of Question Time (before it went on air) explain what an unthinking troll he is.
To talk to various MPs etc, you've got to use their tricks & manouevre carefully, not jump in with both feet & cut your throat, before you've explained carefully. When did shouting at someone in the street, get anyone anywhere? It looked like dispute with neighbour stuff. What an awful uneducted lout, he appeared to be.
It led me to re-listen to Nicky Campbell's interview with Gambaccini. To which I found Gambo, had a hate for Savile whether he'd done anything or not. In Gambo's words "Savile never even operated his own desk at Radio One. He'd come in once a month & record his links & the Producer then, put the show together". What that has to do with Jimmy's other "stuff" is totally unimportant. Surely Gambo must realise, most of the current Radio 2 presenters, have never operated a desk either? Another person plays the music, jingles etc & has done for years.
JK (can probably back this up). JK, when you presented some "Sounds Of The Sixties" shows on R2 in the early 90s, did you put the records on, or was it someone else? I'd guess the latter. |
