If you do go back ... best not mention that you are in favour of propping-up murderous regimes.

If we had helped the people there - when they were trying to overthrow The Shah - they may not have turned to the fundamentalist loonies they have now.
JK2006 I loved Persia when I went there 50 years ago. The Shah was still in power and the secret police were powerful and hated. But the boulevards were wide with clear clean air and those wonderful mountains ringing Teheran, on the other side of that icy sea, full of caviar fat sturgeon.

And the people - some of the most beautiful in the world; gorgeous skin and what eyes (and eyelashes).

I've never been back to Iran but hope I can return.
