The Madonna career is interesting. Now an established star but crap music, bad films, weak books... |

Yes Duffy made a change too soon after her retro album which had lots of hits. At least Gaga had the brains to do it after a few albums. Gaga hasn't changed much, it's just that she has gone way too weird but will recover. The moral of the story is stick to your winning formula for 6 years. By then you would possibly reach the sell by date for that sound and you can go off with the fairies and do something new and if it bombs you return with your titre and tested formula haha. Merry Xmas everyone. |

Oh dear, didn't Duffy do something similar believing she knew best?
And in some ways so did Robbie ditching Guy at his peak... |

Agree with you on Edge, RL, but I don't think personal opinion on the music, though natural, is helpful. I thought all the Spice Girls songs after Wannabe were crap but the punters didn't.
How many of the punters who bought Spice Girls music still listen to it and of those who don't, how many do you think now agree with your opinion on everything after Wannabe?
My gauge for good music is longevity and that generally only comes with quality. If a hyped throw away pop song is your bag then I guess quality is irrelevant.
As yet we don't know if Gaga's songs will stand the test of time therefore personal opinion on the quality is all I have to offer. |

Spice Girls were the definition of manufactured, on every channel, merchandise on every shop even the post office, collectors cards bit like football stickers, didn't they sell more singles than The Beatles ? |
