JK2006 On More4 for Easter Monday, this glorious musical was my seduction by music. I first saw it pre teen with Valerie Hobson and Herbert Lom on stage in the West End. Yul Brynner in the film is fantastic and deserves the Oscar he won. But the most important thing is the songs - melodies and lyrics; not only is virtually every song a hit but many are actually classics.
