I don't agree. Better than ever, they reflect what is being bought or listened to(via streaming services). What people "consume" (don't like that word, but can't think of a better one), is reflected in the charts. What influences them is not relevant, (as long as it's legitimate). That could be plays on radio, TV exposure, in-store or a face-book campaign. As long as the purchase or listen is genuine, it counts.
JK2006 I should have snapped it up just to annoy everyone (except Mike).

I bet it be in the top 40 next week and the BBC will not play it whatsoever.

It was Top 20 in the mid-weeks and would have more than likely stayed in the Top 30 had not both I-Tunes and Amazon responded to Mike's request to remove the single. As far as I'm aware it is no longer possible to buy the track from any of the major digital retailers.

....... Or a more accurate was to look at it -

despite massive publicity (the BBC ran it on their home page and even on the news) - the single flopped !

even the CoUNTrySide Alliance made the Top 40 !!!!!

we can only conclude that the Mad Farmers CAN afford 79p and Ukip supporters can't !!!!!
