Actually it's not that bad - liked Little Orange Pill which played when I landed on your MySpace.
Then to Get Out and Feel Th... hmmm! OK bit ropey recording but that's not a big deal. I like your vocal style, the lyrics are well written and paced. I like the chords you're using. No sure about the la-la-la bit but it's brief.
Only Tell the Truth - the limitaions of your set-up are beginning to show by now. It's sounding more samey than it actually is. Still I like it.
Sweet Sister Green - again I like the sound, I like the lyric.
The bottom line - not hits in the pop-sense but good songs in essence. I don't know what you can do with this, I like it but how to sell it? You may well be up against some agism. Festival circuit perhaps?
I think you could get quite a strong "underground" following if your live performance is solid.
I'd say the biggest problem is your original post, it makes you sound like a complete wanker. Don't bother with the gives a S**t to the one man vibe stuff. It doesn't help.
I liked this, I listened to more than one track which isn't often. Somewhere you could do well and I wish you the best of luck. It's alright. |

to anyone who gives a S**t.. im a singer songwriter called dylan lee jones.. i write about the goings on around my head and life, it's a one man one guitar vibe. i record from the pitt (my bedroom) mainly cos i got hold of a cheap 4 track so i can record whenever i feel like it.. i just about keep myself in backy and guinness so money for good production is a no go, so if people say it sounds like i recorded from my bedroom its cos i did and im proud of its rough raw gypsy sound and its got balls to it.. anyway check out www.myspace.com/dylanleejones and give me good bad or ugly comments.. love peace and guinness dylan lee jones |
