I didn't get past the Wild Mushroom Tart! |
JK2006 |
We gather it went on far too long (nearly two hours for the awards; on the invites it said an hour)... gave far too many prizes (mainly to internet companies - good for future subscriptions and adverts but not supportive of past or present physical retail)... adopted the same old boring format (as criticised here in The Brits and others)... was sadly lacking important executives ("the only person I recognised was Brian Berg")... but most of all was noisy, uncontrolled and rowdy.
I remember when I hosted the 1987 Brits I was VERY strict with the crowd (SSKing was a nickname). They do need to be dominated, like naughty school children. |

When Legend Seymour Stein introduced Legend Daniel Miller and gave him the award named after Legend Tony Stratton Smith, the disrespectful crowd hardly paused for breath in their loud conversation, cackles, giggles, chatter and gay badinage.
Surely those three names alone deserved silence and applause? |

My Red Mullet came back today and that's NOT my hairstyle! |
