Well there was indeed a decline in quality (to which, unintentionally, I probably contributed) but I suspect the true problem lies in the increasing superficiality of humanity leading to musical specialisation and a preference for less good music of your chosen type over far better music in an area you'd never expect. |

The golden era of music seemed to end about 1975,besides house music (yuck) it's all based on things you and others pioneered from before that time.
You of course were about at the birth of modern pop music Mr King,I was not,so am of course more limited in knowledge...my opinion is that back in the early 50s music was getting bland,repeating the same old formulas,jazz had lost the plot,country and blues were churning out the same old tunes....Rock & Roll was new and exciting,a modern sound for a new type of modern teen....
....and now we're back in the same situation....but where is the new sound? |
