I couldn't agree more. She wildly overstretched herself vocally and was, to be honest, utterly poor.
I watched it in disbelief that someone that bad (utterly soulless song and beige session band too) could make it to TOTP2.
I enjoyed Findlay Brown's performance, but his song was WEAK too. Where are the great commercial songwriters hiding at the moment? |

Just saw her on top of the pops2. Average tone of voice, yes a bit chubby but pretty, but more importantlt a poor performance and many off notes. |

The good news is that TOTP2 seems to be starting to feature the odd new track and artiste.
Louise isn't bad - aged 18 and a trifle chubby - but she's got that bloody Mariah Carey disease of oversinging.
Why oh why do people think it's soulful to bend and double notes for no good reason?
It's not clever, detracts from any melody and illustrates no soul whatsoever.
Like ex session backing singer Carey, a triumph of technique over talent. |
