mikemacca It doesn't really do her voice justice at all but then she's flogged herself to death with a brilliant unique style and got no reward so who can blame her for seeking a new direction ?

She wore a gold and black dress with frills at the bottom, somewhat like a thin Divine in one of John waters' classier movies.

I don't remember the enormous opera singer who wavered around without missing a note..., are you sure that wasn't a Freddie Mercury duet ?

The comparisons with Florence Foster-Jenkins are very unfair. "They can say I couldn't sing but nobody can say I didn't sing"
JK2006 She's a huge talent...
Not sure about change of name and sound... how did you feel about the new musical direction?
I loved her bizarre, unusual shows.
Especially the mad Opera singer who bounced around the stage in a fat suit and never even wavered on a note. Incredible and impossible.
I think she's an enormous British talent.
mikemacca The wonderfully talented Susan Black, now performing under the name of Bett Belushi appeared at Corks Wine bar yesterday evening.
It was an interesting event.A rather large bouncer took our entrance money at the door (which was refunded when the guy inside realised we had paid and shouldn't have)

A marvellous repertoire of jazz songs ensued, far different from her old stuff but vocally amazing as always. Why isn't this woman a big star JK ? I know she's been on the tipsheet a few times.
