Martin K Stick with this one GG, it is very creative.
GG (producer) This is a real industry message board run by someone that knows the record business and a hit song, and followed by people that can make a difference. I find the Rope populated by pop culture idiots. Most of whom know shit about the world most on here live in and work in. Almost as if they're reading 2 week old news from trades.
My experience over there anyway. I do not frequent that board.
DOPE on a ROPE It really has been a phenomenon.
I saw the original Velvet Rope thread. Quite liked the band but I'm not influential in the biz (just a local DJ).
Then saw tipsheetxx's comments and checked out this board.
Watched the interest mount up.
Thought "I wonder if that might start a fire".
Well it did!
How many other acts might have broken if JK had not been locked away for 4 years?
JK2006 see the midweeks.
Yes; this internet message board thing is all about getting the right people to hear the right music and to pass it onto the best executives.
When that happens, everything goes right.
It's nice to know that, if I was still in prison, nobody would have heard of Orson.
Martin K I would love to write a more intelligent reply, to that lovely post, but I can`t I am afraid say any more than this.
I have found a lovely bunch of chatty people on this messageboard, who all love good music.
There must be many more Orson`s out there. In many ways , it is a shame that bands as good as that have to use so many promotional boards, in between gigging in what you describe as "sleazy bars".
Still, the best bands have allways had to work hard, and learn their craft the hard way.
Are there some delicate ego`s bruised in Denver? There certainly would be if it happened around my area!
