Board Regular They must have wanted to be caught by the sound of it.

The major label buying teams use much more sophisticated ways of buying singles than bulk ordering ! and have got away with it for years.

When trying to get into the chart the idea that anyone would buy more than 2 copies individually ( apart from at Christmas for prezzies ) is a good rule for the chart to follow. I though multiple purchases used to be counted as 1 purchase to stop this sort of thing happening ?
Not In The Know Isn't The Modern one of Mr Watti-kin's ?

Martin K ...and I agree this is being used as hype this time. But it`s a good one!
Nathan Bennett Here is the story...

JK2006 The theory being that MERCURY (the label) are quite au fait enough to have done it properly if they wanted to, so it was set up (by management) as a STUNT to grab media attention... worth far more than a lousy 13 entry would have been.
But this is just the RUMOUR going around the circles I move in!
So one of the reasons we haven't carried anything or put up DEEP THROAT stories about it has been we decided NOT to contribute to the hype, clever though it may be.
But now it's hit the national media we will examine more closely.
