Steve Wright will take over Pick of the Pops from Paul Gambacinni in October, whilst Paul will present a new live show on Sunday evening. I don't think that putting Steve on Pick of the Pops is the best use of his talents. He won't be able to showcase any of his comedy characters or comedy banter. It is purely a show to play the records and introduce them in a very formal way like Paul does. I think the BBC are trying to appease some older listeners who were disgruntled about Steve being axed from his weekday afternoon show.
