Lofty from It Ain't Hot Mum, could be very sweary, he was known around the UK for selling CDs out of a suitcase.
Did you see him also then, singing over his own CDs in the high streets over a CD player? He did pester shops and retailers with his albums like Woolworths or Smiths would take them, they might have done in the 1970s but not in the 1990s. |

I haven't' seen Lucky Fella, or a Sharp intake of Breath for decades. They were both pretty good, from what I remember. Jason was also in Porridge, playing an old man for a few episodes and took the lead in a film from the 70s called the Odd Job man, which was very good.
I don't think that David Jason was typecast in OFAH. He had lots of other projects going on after and during OFAH, including Frost, The Darling Buds, A bit of a Do and many others. |

He blocked The Top Secret Life Of Edgar Briggs and Short Intake Of Breath.
I am sure the other cast members could have done with some repeat fees. |

I have no idea if he just full of himself or if it's always somebody else's fault. In the 1970s Caine was a box office draw and Jim Broadbent had a few films under his belt before he starred in OFAH. David Jason is not particularly a nice bloke,
Many, many years ago, I did know a barman who worked at Nicholas Lyndhurst's local pub. We warned prior not to greet him or approach Lyndhurst because he is a miserable git. I do feel sorry for him due to losing his son.
DJ, moans that he felt typecast but he took the money and he hasn't blocked repeats of OFAH, like he did with his very early sitcoms. So, it couldn't be all that bad. He was just a bit part actor before Open All Hours, which was as amusing as getting poked in the eye. Not forgetting the mess that A Bit Of A Do was.

What did he block and why? I have seen a repeat of Lucky Feller fairly recently.
I loved Bit of a do. |
