DJones The vulture capitalists are already circling above the dying corpses of the companies formerly known as majors.

Their catalogues (songs / recordings) have some value, but it makes no sense for WMG et al to stay in the high risk business of developing new acts.

Does anybody know what happened to the Bowie bonds? Did he buy his rights back?
Big End you know, I remember plenty of discussion regarding how things would go for the majors at least a couple of years ago. It is surreal watching it happen.

So de-caf, you landed three deals with the majors? Feeling a little unsettled yet? Hope you've been paid.

zooloo From the Motley Fool Investment site - "...a good sign of a dying industry that investors might want to avoid is when it would rather litigate than innovate".

JK2006 Indeed Walter but it's not just WMG.
All the others will collapse too within months.
BMG will sell out within weeks.
EMI will be devastated by the summer.
But the biggest crash of all will be the one nobody suspects - Universal.
The larger the company, the louder the bang.
Walter Sobchak Further to my thread below ,it would appear that the sands of time are running out for the senior management of WMG. Check out the The Velvet Rope for more details
