Green Man I forgot about the Pet Shop Boys movie, never seen it, but I do remember seeing it in video shops in Japan. I don't think there is much of a plot TBH.

Absolute Beginners would have worked if some better actors or musicians could at least act to some degree; Bowie is just atrocious when it comes to acting.

I did see Tommy again last week. Keith Moon is just as horrifying as (evil) Uncle Earnie.

My mother took me to see Silver Dream Machine; all I remember is seeing middle-aged housewives drooling over David Essex in leather and my mother's eyes glued to the screen. I have no idea why she took me to see it, as I didn't like sports even as a kid, but I did enjoy the soundtrack.
robbiex I haven't seen the Ramones movie GM, I'm not that familiar with their music except "Baby I Love You" and "Blitzcreek bop", which I'm sure you're away was influenced by the Roller's saturday night football style chant.
There is also the Madness movie "Take it or Leave it", which is basically autobiographical, with the band playing themselves. Also there is "Anywhere but here" starring the Pet Shop Boys and Barbara Windsor which I've never seen, but would be worth a look out of curiosity.
Green Man Did you see the Ramones movie, Robbie, Rock 'N' Roll High School? It has more plot holes than Swiss cheese. The KISS movie is fun to watch because it's terrible.
Green Man Maybe the arrogance, but other than that, it sounds like a marketing ploy. Hard Days Night was marketed as a documentary in the States.

The Cliff film set in Birmingham is called "Take Me High", and includes the classic hit of the same name. I saw it about 30 years ago when the BBc showed a season of Cliff Richard films. It would interesting to see again as a period piece.

I saw "That'll be the day" again recently on Britbox, and was surprised to see a very young Sue Holderness who played Marlene in Only Fools and Horses. It seemed quite racy to me as a teenager, but probably would struggle to get a 15 certificate now. It says on imdb that iw as loosely based on John Lennon's early years, which I didn't really see.
