I'm sympathetic to your argument there Robbie but the trouble is Wallace has been fired for some allegedly quite poor or inappropriate behaviour against a large number of people, all women I believe, so on what basis can you justify sticking this show on in primetime with him fronting it? Stick it on iPlayer only, or in a graveyard slot if they must. The BBC is quite quick and very fond of erasing many people for their crimes and misdemeanours or even unproven allegations, so what is the difference this time, other than the fact they've spent a pretty packet on a new programme and don't want to waste it. An organisation, the BBC is this case, cannot roundly condemn someone and dismiss them and then credibly put them to air for weeks on end on primetime BBC1, it doesn't wash, and I'm normally very against this easy cancel culture attitude.
Personally I don't understand the appeal of this man or this show, what is it with cooking on TV? People watch all this stuff and then go out and buy a load of M&S ready meals for the microwave! |

I have never got into MasterChef apart from the very early days (early 90s), people do seem to do all they can to find offence in everything.
The days when most households had only 4 channels are long gone. Even if you didn't like someone on TV, you put on the VCR or you went to the boozer.
Or if you lived by the sea with a strong aerial on the roof, you may have been able to pick up channels from overseas. If you lived in some parts of Wales, you could have picked up the RTE channels and Channel 5.
Also, Robbie, Smart TVs are coming down in price, so you can have almost everything filmed at your fingertips. If people don't like MasterChef, they can watch international versions of it instead. |

The bbc should not give in to one contestant and a few women's groups who think that the latest series of Masterchef shouldn't be aired. They say that some people would feel uncomfortable watching it. Well, don't watch it.
Why would you feel uncomfortable? It is just 2 middle-aged men judging people's cooking. Where is the offence in that. I don't even think that they should have edited out the contestant. I imagine it is more because she didn't do very well in the competition, rather than her feeling uncomfortable. |
