Talking of John Cooper Clarke, I found it very interesting that he played himself in the Joy Division movie. |

I've yet to hear anything musical that I like, but he's very entertaining.
The vocal skills of John Cooper-Clarke coupled with adventurous music |

His version of "Jerusalem" is superb.
The thing about the Fall which people seem to not get, is the records are made with a sheer rush of adrenaline and then, even more strangely, the live shows are extremely tight versions of the same music.
I love them, they are the message board of music, mere off the cuff thought, a recording and an interesting track every time.
That said, Jo Whileys` after-show Brit Awards interview with Mark about 10 years back confused the situation further.
If Mark E Smith was dead, I feel that people might have more understanding of what he represents.
The fact that he seems to be one of those rare immortal souls, adds to his mystery. |

on the cover of G2.
What a strange man.
I remember having many long conversations about him with John Peel, who adored him.
I could never understand the appeal. |
