JK2006 Calls from the national broadsheets and TV people desperate for the Guy Hands original memo; 1147 views to this thread alone today so far...
JK2006 Hype hype all is hype...

Gatfield, in the Hands EMI memo, is given credit for Busted and McFly (wasn't that Paul Thingy?)... amongst his other successes are "new artist Robyn" (am I missing something?) and "such million selling acts as Tonic and Badlees" (ah, Badlees, we remember them so well).

With pride Nick reminds us he worked on Brother Beyond (my God I wish I owned their back catalogue).

He was responsible for Sugababes. (Hmm, I was responsible for a lot of things).

Is Nick the saviour of EMI?

Very "old model".
DJones What happened to the "Business Operations Board" and the "Restructuring Board"?

And how many boards does EMI need?
JK2006 Some details direct from Guy Hands

Clearly our most important objective is to build the long-term business model for EMI and to put in place the people who will support it. However we cannot forget short term business delivery and in order to strengthen the management of the company, I am replacing the EMI Music Management Board with two new EMI Music boards:
All label heads in North America and the UK will report to Nick Gatfield. His role will be to help EMI develop great new music by ensuring that the talented A&R people we have at EMI are given the optimum operating environment and support to be able to work in true collaboration with our artists. It is very good to be able to welcome Nick back to EMI.
