I agree GG, it has to be U2.
No bands` albums are more keenly awaited.
I often ponder whether it was the Red Rock gig or Live Aid that cemented their eternal footing. |

U2 is without question the biggest band in the world, for many reasons.
Really no matter what the click is on you tube can a throw-away, inane "Emo" band that might be able to sell out a theater if they are lucky, be mentioned in the same sentence with a band that is still relevant and can fill stadiums everywhere?
Bands like Simple Plan exist because of hype from some of our friends that no longer have jobs. |

I think the biggest bands are the ones which even most non fans have heard of. e.g. The Rolling Stones. They cut across age groups, nationalities, and each member is a pretty much a household name.
Simple Plan? Who?
