MC MC My mum loves him.

Nice man with an interesting story and another reminder of the eclectic variety of music you used to be able to find in the charts and on radio and TV.
JK2006 I was never a huge fan but he was a very nice man and still comes across as one.

And makes me think - there should be room for all types on TV these days. A bit of Doonican, some Sex Pistols, Beatles, Coolio, AC/DC, Howard Keel, Amy Winehouse - let's have them all please.
The Cat I saw this show on BBC4 last year but my mother, who's a big Val Doonican fan, missed it. I'm glad they put it on again, because she's now been able to tune in.
JK2006 He still looks great, fully functional, charming man - I met him several times (my God I've had a good life).
