david Hi Jonathan, yes I also purchased a new Intel chip iMAC and discovered likewise .. still I don't really mind as I paid AU%70 and got the darn modem.

Broadband is obviously the future but if you want a dial-up backup or moving around then it's good to have narrowband/dialup access.

Regarding iTunes .. It is the best online music store and will continue to be so in my view.

There is discussion about DRM because of what was going on in France but I don't think that will change the rest of the world.

If you are in the record biz you should be on the side of Apple and iTunes because it really can work to your benefit. It is for my company and it's made a HUGE difference to the bottom line.

David
mikemacca we have 3 different macs, an imac g5 , an emac and a mac book pro. I've yet to find one that does everything so I have a few alternatives. I still wouldn't have a PC if you paid me.

Sometimes you have to move into the 21st century but remain in the 20th just incase.Trouble with these big companies is they assume EVERYONE has broadband.

Talking of 21st century, thank god you've put this box set out JK as I was beginning to worry about not being able to play my vinyl in future. I don't want to terrify you but I have around 400 of your records/related ! That makes me a Jonarak!
Martin K We have 2 macs, but neither carry aol broadband, so we are still on windows for internet, much to my frustration.
When we update the website though, we do it through a G4, and on dial up.
It does need sorting, the packard bell one is slower on b/b, than the macs are on dial up, hence why we are buying new stuff in.
Computers...we love em and we hate them...
Marshy In Clifornia at the moment. Spotted, for about $25 in Fry's, a USB modem. Nothing unusual about that except that it's hardly bigger than a normal USB memory stick thingy, therefore perfect for keeping in a laptop bag.
DJones when they realise that all their iTunes-downloads won't play because now there is a new soundformat / DRM-scheme.

I'll bet it will happen, sooner than later.
