Denise I used to enjoy Top of the Pops. As a child it was one of my favourite shows, but my own children had no interest in it. I thought it lost a lot of character once the Radio One DJs no longer presented the show. The later editions ranged from bland to awful. If they do bring it back it will have to be extremely well made. It is a fond memory but I fear it has had it's day.

BR It may be returning full time to the schedules. Lets hope so - the CHART has been meaningless since TOTP stopped. It is the only shop window for Pop Music on TV which has a big enough following to mean anything.

I believe it will get massive ratings if it returns and starts to do the Countdown again. With new digital graphics it should be possible to do an edgy show with plenty of spin off Merchandising that helps the BBC to rival X Factor with a music show.

JK2006 Jimmy is as funny and classy as ever - the entire "TOTP returns for Xmas" is another load of meejah rubbish - sometimes I despair about BBC executives and spin; they really haven't got a clue.
