itsmyparty It's a celebration of the 50th year of the Hot 100, hence songs from the very first chart in 1958 onwards.

Billboard frequently mentions the pre-58 stuff whenever chart records and the like are discussed.
zooloo As the chart didn't exist it's unfair to say anything has been written out of history.
DJones and publishes some "All Time"-Charts.

The only problem is: All Time means the last 50 years. Rock'n'Roll is written out of the (chart) history.
