Thanks for the info JK. T'would be great to get a pristine quality recording of this. I'm involved in a consortium putting together a new Gold Radio Station and I was discussing with Mike Read the other day about people in the music biz who have a real 'ear' for a good commercial pop song ... did your ears burn?!
Look forward to receiving the Box set, there are sure to be some forgotten gems in it and I'm sure we'll be spinning some on air very soon.
All the best.

I love it dearly but on the box set it was essentially JK tracks (I only put hedgehoppers and Angelettes on as well) - not a UK collection.
Cherry Red has been doing some of the UK tracks on CD collections, licensed from us... they may be interested in a Volume Two of Bubblepop. I'll ask them. |

Just joined so this may have been asked before.
Question: I have a CD of JK's greatest hits and have just ordered the Box set of JK's hits too (mainly wanted to get The Angelettes on CD but at £10, has to be a bargain!).
However, I'm very curious to know why Pat Codd and Harry & The Hoolahoops has been omitted from both collections. IS this fab song available anywhere
on CD?? As a radio broadcaster, whenever I've played this, I've always had phone calls to enquire about the song. It's one record that really should have been a hit but ...
I have the song on vinyl and have transferred to CD but just wondered why it seems to have been forgotten ... surely you're not ashamed of such a great song are you JK? |
