JK2006 I think I forgot to post here a few days ago when she passed, as they say.
I wrote about her on the Velvet Rope.
Scott Walker was a fan (and she adored him) and we went to see her dozens of times at Ronnie Scott's in the 60s and visited her backstage (she kissed and stroked Scott, barely shook my hand!).
I could never quite understand her appeal (I hate little girly type vocals) but she was certainly an original.
