DJones Since 1982 there was some progress in marketing. This spot is quite good:

giles2008 It was in 1982. The campaign was aimed at the better off American tourists. Its like all advertising, never tells the whole story
andrew Very misleading this tourist campaign. London is not like that at all. And I noticed that they filmed in West End and used posh locations. Didn't film rough or grotty areas in which where's London has more off.
giles2008 And here is the video from 1982. Saw it for the first time ysterday. Thing is SB could still sell London better than most current artistes. She still sings the song on a regular basis in her live shows.
